Beginning the journey
Turn away from sin and be faithful to Christ
Lent leads us towards the cross and, as the season begins, we are marked with the cross with which we were signed at our baptism, a reminder of both death to life and life in death. The ash is made by burning the palm crosses which were blessed on Palm Sunday last year.
10.00am: Holy Communion with imposition of ashes
7.00pm: Holy Communion with imposition of ashes
Lent courses
The Sacraments
Understand the sacraments as never before in this new York Course.
Known for her profoundly perceptive and engaging writing, Jane Williams, is a wonderful companion to have on this exhilarating course. Acknowledging that the sacraments can seem confusing, divisive or (frankly!) incomprehensible, she reveals them to be a glorious expression of God’s love for the world in all its beauty and brokenness.
The sacraments invite us to enter into the mystery that the world has meaning and purpose and that all things come together in Jesus. If we are willing, in loving response, to become part of the action ourselves, we will surely find ourselves not only refreshed but re-enchanted.
There will be several courses running:
Day | Time | Leader | Venue |
---|---|---|---|
Tuesday | 3.00-4.30pm | David Carruthers | Croxley Green |
Wednesday | 7.15-9.00pm | Jane Pummell | Highfield Way |
Friday | 10.00am-12 noon | Gary Norman | Room 1 |
Please sign up on the lists at the back of the church.
