The electoral roll is the formal list of members of our church and we encourage everyone to enrol on it.
As well as giving you a true sense of membership and belonging at St Mary’s, being on the roll is a demonstrable way of confirming your commitment to the St Mary’s community and to our vision. It also entitles you to stand for election to the PCC, Deanery Synod or as a churchwarden. You are also entitled to vote at our meetings.
In order to be eligible to be on the roll, you must be baptised and over the age of 16. You must also sign a declaration that you are a member of the Church of England or of a Church in communion with it and resident in the parish. If you are not resident in the parish, you must have habitually attended public worship in the parish during the preceding six months. Full details of eligibility are given on the form.
The electoral roll is completely revised every six years and everyone who wishes to be on the roll must re-enrol. No names are carried forward from previous rolls.
2025 is the ‘magic’ year when the roll is being completely revised so, whether or not you are already on the roll, you must complete a new form. This particularly applies if you wish to stand for election at the annual meetings or be able to vote at these meetings.
Please download and complete the form and return it to the Church Office by Friday 2 May 2025.
